Dr. Tara Vinodrai is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Management and Innovation (IMI) at the University of Toronto and is a Senior Associate at the Innovation Policy Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. She has extensive expertise related to innovation ecosystems and technological change; local labour market dynamics; and local and regional economic development in urban and rural settings. She has led funded projects related to the dynamics of innovation support organizations and regional development initiatives in Ontario, as well as participating in several large-scale projects related to clusters, the social dynamics of innovation, and creating digital opportunities within Canada. Her recent research focuses on clusters and innovation ecosystems; mechanisms for achieving inclusive innovation and economic development; and the impact, adoption and use of disruptive technologies in emerging and traditional sectors. Her award-winning work has informed policy in Canada and internationally.
