Registration - Paid Programs

Engineering Outreach offers online registration for its programs. The following explains how to register as well as various policies surrounding registration.

How to register

  • Fall/Winter/Spring Programs (September - June) Please register based on the grade your child is currently attending.
  • Summer Programs (July - August) Please register based on the grade your child will be entering in Fall.
  1. Create an account in our registration system. Engineering Outreach uses CampBrain in order to provide a more accessible and positive registration experience for everyone. It should only take a few minutes of your time. If you have an account with us already, you can jump to step 3!

    * Remember to create your account as the parent/guardian!
You will be able to add your children into your profile afterward.
  2. At this point, you can add all information for your children by clicking on 'Manage People and Household Information' in the bottom left corner. Remember, you must be the legal guardian of the child (please don’t ask your wonderful friends or neighbors to register for you!)
  3. Registration Day: Log into your account (or make an account if you have yet to do so), select the season, select your children, and pick your programs.
  4. Please note that all registrations require the forms marked with a red asterisk. These may take a few minutes to fill out depending on your selected sessions. Once a session is added to your cart and you move to the page marked 'Step 3', you will have a window of 20 minutes to complete registration so as to give some time to fill out all necessary forms.
  5. Bursaries: If bursaries are available in your selected season, you will have the option to select and complete the bursary application within your account. We will contact you once the application is assessed. Any bursary spots will be applied to your account ahead of the general registration opening date.
  6. Make sure that you take a look at our FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) as well as additional details below.

Register Online

The fastest and easiest way to register for our programs is online. Our online registration system allows for much more flexibility when managing accounts and registrations.  It is kept to the standards the school has for electronic commerce transactions.

The registration system is PCI compliant and meets industry e-commerce standards. The system is provided and supported by CampBrain.

To create an account, please read all directions and follow the steps outlined in the registration portal.

Registration availability is updated in real-time on this site. If there are no spots available, you will be able to register directly to the waiting list for that camp.  Registration is only 100% confirmed when it's added to the cart and payment is processed.  If a registration is left in the cart and the user logs off or leaves the computer, the registration spot will remain available until payment is processed.

Once a session is added to your cart and you move to the page marked 'Step 3', you will have a window of 20 minutes to complete registration (with mandatory forms).

If you are unable to access the registration site, please try again after a few minutes.

Registration is only confirmed when payment is made.

The University of Waterloo/Waterloo Engineering Outreach is committed to accessibility for persons with disabilities.  If you require an accommodation to utilize this software, please contact the ESQ office at 519-888-4856 ext 48880.

Before you proceed with Registration please read through the following policies:

We do not accept cash or cheque payment.

Credit Card and debit payment must be made through our online registration system, we are not able to process payment on the phone or in person.

Registration Limits (Summer)

Our camps are divided into grade groups - each grade group offers several programs each week (i.e. Banting A, Banting B). These weeks do not have to be in a row.

We are unable to accommodate requests for exceeding the maximum number of weeks for a given camp. This is in order to ensure that as many campers as possible are able to experience ESQ.

Bursary program

With generous support from our supporters, Engineering Outreach is able to offer bursaries for our programs. A bursary can cover up to 95% of the program fee, and are awarded based on a completed application form. Bursaries offer the opportunity for children who otherwise would not be able to afford our programs to attend. In order to ensure as many children as possible benefit from these bursaries, there is a limit of one bursary per child per season. The application for bursaries will be available as a form within the registration system.

Bursaries are allocated before season registration opens. Bursary allocations are evaluated following a deadline. Once applications have been evaluated after the deadline, successful applicants will be emailed, with a deadline, to accept their awarded program spot. Bursaries will be awarded and applied before public registration opens. All updates for your application will be sent to the email on file in our registration system.

Bursaries are subject to availability

Program support

Engineering Science Quest strives to ensure that all campers have the support they need to be successful in our summer camps. Our Program Support helps children who require unique levels of support to attend our program. The Program Assistants receive in-depth training in preparation for this position.

Program Assistants can work "as needed" or in a "low ratio" with your child. Typically, we have one Program Assistant for three Campers.

While registering your child for camp, we ask that you please indicate the need for Program Support by answering the following questions: “Does your child require unique levels of support?” & “Please tell us anything you feel we should know.” In May and/or June,one of our Staff will be in touch to discuss how we can make the camp experience a success!

We are unable, however, to offer one-on-one support to your child. If your child does require this level of support, we ask that you please contact us to discuss bringing a parent/guardian or equivalent to Camp alongside your child. All personal support attendees are required to have a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Extended Care and Late Pick Up

This summer, Extended Care is offered for Morning (8:00 - 8:30am) and Afternoon (4:30 - 5:00pm) at rates of $5/week.

Regular pick up time is between 4 and 4:30 PM. If you are late to pick up your child, you will be subject to our late camper pick up fee of $5 for the first 5 minutes, then an additional $1/minute afterward per child.

Cancellation Policy

There will be no refunds issued for cancellations of the LIT program for 2025. Please ensure you are available for the mandatory training dates (Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th) before registering.

Waiting List

If the camp session your interested in is full, you will be able to register for the waiting list directly in the system.

When a spot is available our office will contact you via email with directions on how to claim or pass on the offered spot. Please note that in this email, it will mention a time frame that you have to claim your spot by. If you don't claim the offered spot by this deadline, we will offer the camp spot to another person on the waiting list.

There are many factors that influence the wait list. For that reason we do not give out information in regards to length or position.

Commitment to barrier free programming

We believe that every child should have the right to experience our programs to their fullest potential. In order to help us achieve this goal, ESQ offers both a bursary and support program.
