What is it?
- Engages high school students (finished grade 9 or higher as of July 2024) that have interest in volunteer experience with Engineering Science Quest
- Builds leadership skills through group problem solving, insight into our program development and delivery, and first-hand experience working with children
- Includes attending one mandatory training session (Saturday June 29th OR Saturday July 20th) and volunteer placement in an ESQ camp!
- Placement week is valid for completing volunteer service hours (approx. 40 hours)
- Option to sign up for multiple placement weeks if interested
*This program runs in-person and is not an overnight program. Overnight accommodations can be booked separately and links will be sent to accepted applicants for next steps.
2024 Details
- Application-based program; students must apply and be accepted into the program before registering
- Applications open December 21st and will remain open until February 23rd
- All applicants will be informed if they have been accepted into the program by April 26th
- Registration fee (2024 fee is $70+HST); Includes one participant T-shirt. *Bursary applications are available
- Registration fee is due only upon acceptance into the program
- Placement week(s) available in July and August 2024*; selected after you receive your acceptance (you will receive more details through an acceptance email) *Placements must take place after you have completed a training session
- This program is not an overnight program; overnight accommodations are optional and can be booked separately through an on-campus residence partner; Details will be sent to accepted applicants

The Personal Interest Application is a creative way to express your interest in this program. You can be as creative as you like with it. Video, audio, artwork, a poem, letter... the format is up to you! Make sure to tell us about:
- Yourself and your interest in science, engineering, leadership and beyond
- What you think the skills of a good leader are?
- An idea for an activity you'd like to teach to other participants your age.
Maximum size: approx. 1 sheet of paper or 2 minutes of media. Submissions exceeding this will not be evaluated beyond the noted limits (i.e. if you submit a 10 minute video, we will only evaluate the first 2 minutes)
