The Gamma Method is for finding interesting times in time series data sets.  Typically, these data sets come from sensor clusters deployed in the field.  It is a quick, flexible, and transparent method for finding the interesting part of a data set.

Presentation of The Gamma Method

This presentation is an introduction to The Gamma Method for time series data sets.  The Monterey Bay data set is from "Observations of nonlinear internal waves at a persistent coastal upwelling front" (Walter et al, Continental Shelf Research 2016).

Presentation of Tutorial Code

This presentation goes over the MATLAB tutorial code associated with Heliyon 2019.
