Feature Identification Methods

Introduction

Almost everyone seems to have more data than they know what to do with.  As a result people often find that they do not have time to examine their entire data set in detail.  Feature Identification Methods help by identifying parts of a data set which are worth focusing on. 

Overview

Here are three methods to help you find the important part of your data:

• The Gamma Method, which is primarily for data sets gathered from sensors deployed in the field.
• The EOF Error Map Method, which is primarily for computational fluid dynamics data sets.
• The First Eigenvalue Series Method, which is for ensembles of data sets.
