Music and conversation with Dr. Karen Sunabacka (Waterloo Womxn + Nonbinary Wednesdays)

Thursday, February 16, 2023 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Composer Karen Sunabacka finds music in unlikely places -- from Manitoba winters, to family history, to the sometimes-clashing forces of her Métis and mixed European heritage. In this virtual “brown-bag,” Dr. Sunabacka will reflect on her creative process, and share some original music, including excerpts from her recent work, “The Place Where Creator Rests.” A collaboration with her mother, Joyce Clouston, “The Place Where Creator Rests” explores Métis and Mennonite relationships in Treaty 1 territory, now known as Manitoba.

As part of W3+’s year-long investigation of “radical care,” join us for music, conversation, and reflections on collaborative creation.
