We will be watching "But I'm a Cheerleader", a cult classic from 1999. Refreshments provided!
Megan, the titular cheerleader, is sent to True Directions, a conversion therapy camp, in the hopes that it will cure her of her budding lesbianism. Take a wild guess how that goes. At one point, RuPaul looks right into the camera and says "I, myself, was once a gay" and keeps a straight (pardon the pun) face. And yet, nary an Oscar nomination in sight. Outrageous!
The movie stars Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll), Clea Duvall (American Horror Story), and RuPaul in one of his rare non-drag appearances.
