Talking to young children (age 0-6) about consent.

Description

This virtual session will discuss and answer questions about the importance of talking to young children about consent, setting boundaries, and using the proper names for body parts to help build a culture of respect and consent.

Although the session specifically focuses on young children, many of the ideas and suggestions are transferable to older children.

Learning Objectives:

  • Increase understanding of why it is important to correctly name body parts and teach children consent
  • Increase knowledge and skills in talking to children and modelling behaviour
  • Increase motivation to learn more about this topic and how it can build consent culture in our communities, including our campus community
