Salary Anomaly Working Group

Since May 1, 2006, the University has allocated an annual anomalies fund for each Faculty, equal to five per cent of that Faculty’s selective increase pool. These funds are used to correct individual salary anomalies. Any special permanent increases must be approved by the Vice-President, Academic and Provost, following consultation with the President of the Faculty Association.

In addition, every five years, a joint Faculty Association–University working group reviews faculty salaries for anomalies, including those related to gender and other identity-based factors. The 2023–24 Salary Anomaly Working Group (SAWG) specifically focused its analysis on salary anomalies by race and Indigenous identity. The group submitted its final report on October 30, 2024.
