Policy Review and Development

The Office of the AVP, Faculty Planning and Policy serves as a resource for policy review and development which is led by the Secretariat. The Policy review and development process is guided by Policy 1 – Initiation and Review of University Policies.

List of currently open policies under the Office of the AVP, Faculty Planning and Policy:

Policy 12 - Compassionate and Bereavement Leaves

The Policy 12 Drafting Committee has submitted a draft of the policy to the Faculty Relations Committee and the Staff Relations Committee for their consideration.  Feedback will be provided to the Drafting Committee for further revisions to the draft.

Policy 29 - Smoking

A Policy Working Group has been established, working towards a smoke-free campus in 2024.

Policy 33 – Ethical Behaviour

A joint committee made up of members of the Faculty Relations Committee and the Staff Relations Committee has been meeting, and continues to meet, to consider the last draft produced by the Policy 33 Drafting Committee.

Policy 42 – Prevention of and Response to Sexual Violence

The Policy 42 Drafting Committee has been meeting, and continues to meet, working towards redrafting the policy and accompanying procedures.

Policy 57 – Employment Accommodations

The Policy 57 Drafting Committee has submitted a draft of the policy to the Faculty Relations Committee and the Staff Relations Committee for their consideration.  Feedback will be provided to the Drafting Committee for further revisions to the draft.

The Policy 70 Drafting Committee completed a round of consultations and are now considering the feedback provided.
