Amirhossein Amirsoleymani

Amir is a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Fuel Cell technology. His research focuses on the experimental testing, modelling, and characterization of metallic bipolar plates used in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) and electrolyzer systems. At the Fuel Cell and Green Energy Lab, Amir is involved in advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling to analyze various transport phenomena and optimize fuel cell performance. His work also includes experimental assessments of bipolar plates, evaluating properties such as electrical and thermal conductivity, hydrophobicity, and corrosion resistance Amir holds a MASc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Windsor and a BASc in Chemical Engineering from Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, Mazandaran, Iran. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Dr. Xianguo Li. His research aims to address issues related to water accumulation inside fuel cells, which can negatively impact overall performance.
