Dr. Jesse Kancir is the deputy chief medical officer of health for the province of Nova Scotia, where he helps monitor the health of all residents and leads communicable disease control and immunization policy. 

As a dually licensed specialist in public health and family medicine, he also actively holds leadership roles in several provincial and national medical organizations, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada and Doctors Nova Scotia.

Dr. Diego Garzón is Chief Business Officer at Apertura Gene Therapy and has more than 16 years of biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector experience within the U.S. and internationally, with a background spanning commercial R&D and Business Development. Dr. Garzón brings extensive knowledge of multiple therapeutic areas and provides leadership in the areas of managing teams and portfolio execution, having previously brought seven medicines to the market. Prior to joining Apertura, Dr. Garzón held roles at Exicure, Allergan, BMS and Schering-Plough. He most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy at Exicure. Dr. Garzón received his BSc in Biology at the University of Waterloo, PhD in Neuroscience at McMaster University and MBA degrees from Queen’s University and Cornell University.

As Purolator’s Corporate Sustainability Officer, Cindy is responsible for leading the development of Purolator’s sustainability strategy, advancing policies and standards, managing risks and opportunities, and improving Purolator’s performance, disclosures, and reputation related to the Environment, Community Investment, DEIB and Health and Wellbeing. Currently Cindy is leading the development of Purolator’s emissions reduction goals and roadmap, which includes clean fuels, electrifying Purolator’s last-mile delivery vehicles and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Cindy completed her undergrad in Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo and has an MBA specialized in Sustainability from Schulich.  For more than 20 years, Cindy has worked as an environment and sustainability professional in a variety of industries including automotive manufacturing, financial services, and transportation and logistics.

She currently works at Roche as a Business Systems Analyst in Roche Digital Technology (RDT), where she also previously completed an 8-month co-op. Passionate about the intersection of science, business, and technology, Mandy enjoys bridging technical insights with strategic solutions.

Jeff is currently a Master of Science in eHealth candidate at McMaster University and a Pharma Technical Analyst Intern at Roche, where he bridges the gap between healthcare and technology. In his role, he manages global supply chain projects across more than 20 countries, leveraging data to drive critical decision-making. His expertise lies primarily in data analytics and project management. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys playing badminton and rock climbing. He is excited to serve as a roaming consultant, ready to help participants tackle their case challenges and leverage their unique backgrounds to develop innovative solutions.
