On January 11th 2016, University of Waterloo President Feridun Hamdullahpur, Vice-President University Research George Dixon, and Interim Vice-President, Advancement Erin Sargeant Greenwood visited the Gambling Research Lab for an update on the research being conducted in the lab.
Here, Dr. Dixon, Co-Director, explains the various types of slot machines and the research which has been conducted.
Chanel Larche, PhD Candidate, presented her research on Candy Crush, a very popular video game.
Madison Stange, PhD Candidate, described her scratch card research and how many of the results match the lab's findings on slot machines.
Kevin Harrigan, Co-Director, finished the briefing with an update on new initiatives in the Gambling Research Lab, including Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE), systematic reviews, and eBingo.
