Lab Directors Appointed to Leadership Roles in CORS

At the CORS 2026 Conference, directors of the Health AI & Analytics Lab were appointed to leadership roles within the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS), reflecting their continued engagement and contributions to the operations research community.

Dr. Houra Mahmoudzadeh has been appointed President of CORS, a national society dedicated to advancing the development and application of operations research and analytics across academia, industry, and the public sector. In this role, she will help guide the society’s strategic direction, support its community of researchers and practitioners, and foster collaboration across disciplines. The presidency plays a central role in shaping CORS initiatives, conferences, and outreach activities, helping to strengthen connections between methodological research and real‑world applications across sectors, including healthcare.

Dr. Fatih Safa Erenay has been appointed Track Organizer for the Healthcare Operational Research Special Interest Group (SIG) of CORS. In this capacity, he will contribute to shaping the conference program in the healthcare operations research cluster, supporting the selection and organization of sessions that highlight emerging research and applications in the field. This role also involves fostering engagement among researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of healthcare systems, analytics, and operations research, and promoting collaboration across academic and industry communities.
