Scholar Sun, an undergraduate research assistant working with Prof. Houra Mahmoudzadeh was recognized as the Winner of the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) Student Paper Competition - Undergraduate Category at the CORS 2023 Conference in Montréal. His paper titled "A Time-Discretized Mathematical Model and Heuristic for Breast Cancer Radiotherapy" explores advanced optimization methods for radiotherapy treatment planning that can be integrated into clinical practice.
Update (October 11, 2023): The paper also received the Honorable Mention at the prestigious INFORMS Undergraduate Operations Research Prize student paper competition, during the 2023 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. Congratulations Scholar!
