What: Free, online training modules to test and build IT security and cyber awareness training.

Safeguarding research

The University's safeguarding research workplan and activities provide guidance on key areas of practice to safeguard research. This guidance will include: training in risk assessment and risk mitigation; providing an overview and incorporation of cyber security best practices; protection of data; export controls requirements; and engagement with the University of Waterloo community on how best to understand safeguarding research in a shifting geo-political environment. 

Project Management training

What: The Project Management Office (PMO) provides leadership and stewardship for a number of key practices related to project and program management. Our experience has shown that the proper application of project management best practices leads to more successful outcomes. The PMO builds project management capabilities through related information resources on tools and techniques, workshops (including custom), consulting, mentoring and a Community of Practice.

How: Project Management training opportunities and workshops are available. Individual requests for support may be submitted to the PMO. 

LinkedIn Learning

What: All University of Waterloo staff, faculty and students have free, round the clock access to the LinkedIn Learning online learning platform. LinkedIn Learning provides unlimited access to over 6,000 online courses, taught by industry experts, ranging from business and photography to software development and design.

Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways

What: Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways is an on-demand, self-service solution designed to provide learning resources and videos for common Microsoft (Office) 365 applications and services including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and more.
