KGSA Winter 2022 Newsletter

A Message from your KGSA

The Kinesiology Graduate Student Association (KGSA) would like to welcome back all faculty, staff, and students to the winter semester. We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday! Be sure to keep an eye out on our social media platforms to keep up to date on all upcoming events. We hope to be back in person come February and look forward to seeing you all again!

Recap of Fall 2021

In Fall 2021, the KGSA hosted numerous virtual events such as card games and Telestrations on our discord channel. We also hosted a couple of in-person events like the KGSA Paint Night and the Murder Mystery party. Our biggest event of all was the annual KGSA Holiday Party and raffle! Though this holiday event was switched into a virtual format, we still had a great turnout. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, a total of $600 was raised at the holiday party and all proceeds were donated to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Thank you to everyone who donated and attended! With the support of the Dean’s Advisory Committee on Health and Well-being, the KGSA recently hosted a department-wide interactive virtual presentation on Rethinking Imposter Syndrome with Dr. Valerie Young. Thank you to everyone who attended! It was great first step in normalizing the conversation about Imposter Syndrome and how we can effectively address it.
