Mindfulness Mondays

The KGSA would like to invite you to a new initiative for grad students called "Mindfulness Mondays". The purpose of this initiative is to provide space and time in our busy schedules early in the week to engage in the practice of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation. The format of the Mindfulness Mondays initiative is very open ended, in the hopes of respecting peoples' privacy and willingness to participate in person. Every Monday between 9am - 10am, we invite people wanting to actively participate in this initiative to gather in the reading room on the third floor of BMH (BMH 3035).

The 2019 Holiday Party was a huge success! Thanks to everyone for making this such a great event! Please enjoy a brief recap and some pictures from the night here!

We invite all graduate students to attend! There will be lots of food, games, and socializing to be had by all! Please keep a look out for more information as the date approaches!

Attention KIN graduate students. It's that time of year again. The KGSA annual general meeting (AGM) will be held in less than a month (exact time and location will be announced soon). That means that if you, or any of your Kin grad student colleagues, are interested in any of the executive positions, please let us know: mglinka@uwaterloo.ca.

All positions (except Past President) are open. In cases where multiple people are nominated, an online vote will determine the winner.

The beautiful Canadian mountain town of Banff hosted the 48th Annual Conference of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) from July 31st - August 3rd. Dr. Steven Fischer's group represented UW at this meeting, sharing their instrumental work aimed at understanding causes of musculoskeletal disorders in paramedics and assessing interventions designed to reduce injury burdens in this population.
