Aslan Aydin

Honours Student

Aslan is in the fourth year of their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Honours Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience at the University of Waterloo. They are interested in the multisensory nature of language comprehension. Outside the lab, Aslan enjoys singing with the University of Waterloo a cappella club and spending time with their cat. 

Erin Beaton

Honours Student

Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) in Primary/Junior Education from Queen’s University, and is currently completing an Honours Psychology post-degree program at the University of Waterloo. She is interested in how children learn to understand language and communication by using pragmatic cues. Outside of the lab, Erin enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her friends, family, and dog!

Alexandria Chuong

Honours Student

Alexandria is a 4th year Psychology BSc student, working on her honours thesis! She is exploring how the syntactic complexity of spoken language influences learning in lectures. Outside the lab, she enjoys baking and sewing crafts! 

Cloe Huang

Honours Student

Cloe is a fourth-year Honours Science (BSc) student double majoring in Ecology and Psychology. She is interested in exploring the cognitive processes involved in language learning as well as effective approaches to second language teaching. Outside the lab, Cloe enjoys learning about different cultures and spending time with her two cats: Luca and Mocha! 

Brooke Johnston

Honours Student

Brooke is in her fourth year of the Honours Psychology Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Waterloo. She is interested in how children use disfluencies in speech to make predictions. Outside the lab, Brooke enjoys paddleboarding and playing guitar.

Kylie Lambert

Honours Student

Kylie is currently in her last year of the Honours Psychology program at the University of Waterloo. She is interested in how audiovisual speech perception affects children’s language development. Outside the lab, Kylie enjoys reading and watercolour painting!

Vy Nguyen

Honours Student

Vy is a fourth-year Honours Arts (BA) Psychology student in the Research-Intensive Specialization. She is interested in how speakers’ accents influence listeners’ social attributions, and how these perceptions shape real-world outcomes across different contexts. Outside of the lab, Vy enjoys cooking, thrifting, and photography.
