Administrative history: The River of Life Fellowship at110 Fergus Ave in Kitchener, Ontario began services and formally organized in 1995. Wayne and Mary Wagler are considered the founding leaders of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by Living Water Community Christian Fellowship and Hope Christian Fellowship.

In 1998 there were 28 members; in 2000, 47, in 2009, 67. The group has been affiliated with Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (1996-) and Mennonite Church Canada. The language of worship is English. In 1998 the congregation was part of the cell church movement. Peter and Denise Gruber served in 2005 as team leaders for the congregation. At the end of May 2019 River of Life withdrew from Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and continued as an independent congregation.

Custodial history: The fonds were donated at unknown times.
