Title: Florence Cressman Snyder fonds

Biographical sketch: Florence Cressman Snyder (16 April 1892-28 November 1978)) was the third of four daughters of Ephraim S. Cressman (4 October 1855-26 February 1911) and Susannah Betzner Cressman (8 June 1860-24 September 1948). On On 4 June 1921 she married married Earle Snyder (14 August 1893-14 December 1973). They had two daughters.
Florence was a homemaker after her marriage. Florence and Earle Snyder were active members of the Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church.
Custodial history: The diaries were preserved by Helen Snyder Reusser, daughter of Florence Cressman Snyder. She donated them to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario in October 2008.
Scope and content: The fonds consists of two series: 1) Diaries maintained by by Florence Cressman Snyder for 70 years. The set is not complete, some diaries were retained by family members. 2) Correspondence, mostly to Earle Snyder prior to their marriage (1917-April 1921), and some after marriage when he was away on business (1923-1924). January 1924 also includes several of Earle's letters to Florence. There is also a miscellaneous correspondence folder.
