Congratulations to Laura Hug on being named a Member of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) College. Dr. Hug, Lead Principal Investigator and Canada Research Chair in Environmental Microbiology, is one of 56 new Members being welcomed as part of the 2024 Cohort.
Founded in 1882, the RSC comprises the Academy of Arts and Humanities, Academy of Social Sciences, Academy of Science and the RSC College. The RSC recognizes excellence, advises the government and the larger society, and promotes a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.
The RSC College is Canada’s first national system of multidisciplinary recognition for the emerging generation of Canadian intellectual leadership. These mid-career leaders bring a multigenerational capacity to address major challenges and seize new opportunities, including those in emerging fields.
