Throughout the project, we will work with end users to communicate information on project results that will be useful to them. Our work will have a direct impact on five municipalities whose active landfills are surveyed.
Beyond the five municipalities that we are directly working with in this project, our research has the potential to impact approximately 2,400 other active landfill sites across Canada. We will develop best practices recommendations suitable for climates across the country for wider dissemination. We will liaise with end users and partners to ensure our research is needed, relevant, and actively used. While our research is of primary interest to the waste sector, it also has the potential to impact other sectors such as oil and gas, agriculture, and building.
