Your Warriors exam checklist

This is the first time many of you will be writing final exams at university. It’s okay to be nervous or anxious! Know that our UWaterloo community is here to support your success.

Whether you’re feeling totally prepared, a little unsure, or the panic has set in, we’re here to support you. It’s important to be organized and have a plan to work through the stress of preparing for final exams. Honouring ‘her unstoppable spirit’

A beloved former dean whose dynamic leadership was the driving force behind the construction of Engineering 7 will be recognized with the designation of the building’s IDEAs Clinic in her honour.

At an event today celebrating the legacy of Pearl Sullivan, the space will be named the Pearl Sullivan Engineering IDEAs Clinic to commemorate the accomplishments of the eighth dean of Waterloo Engineering and the first woman to hold the post who died after a long cancer battle almost two years ago.

Remembrance Day is an important reminder

On November 11th, we remember and honour all the individuals who have and continue to serve in Canada’s military services. While terms like values, freedoms and rights have recently been connected to the political rhetoric of our times, the basis of these definitions regardless of their interpretation are a result of the sacrifice and on-going contributions of many.

New investment paves way towards a more sustainable future

The RBC Foundation announced today a $2-million donation to the University of Waterloo to bolster the Bachelor of Sustainability and Financial Management. The program, the first of its kind in Canada, prepares accounting and finance professionals with additional skills beyond practicing accounting and financial management including environmental law, social equality, carbon emissions and ecosystem science.

This September, Hurricane’s Ian and Fiona underscored what we already know — extreme weather events are increasing in frequency and severity. These events displaced approximately 30 million people worldwide in 2020, and this number is expected to increase in the coming decades because of climate change.

Diana is the new chair of the University of Waterloo Alumni Council. “I am privileged to volunteer alongside other proud Waterloo alumni who are equally passionate about the University and the student experience,” says Diana. “Through gifts of time, talent and financial support, our Alumni Council members represent the 236,000 people around the world who have graduated from Waterloo since its inception in 1957.”

Waterloo ranks top university in Canada for entrepreneurs

The University of Waterloo once again ranks in the first spot amongst its Canadian peers for producing the most successful entrepreneurs with undergraduate degrees according to the 2022 PitchBook university rankings. Waterloo also moves up one spot from last year to 21st in the world for founders.
