Waterloo ranked amongst world’s best: THE World University Rankings

The University of Waterloo tied 158 overall in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024 that were announced on September 27. Waterloo also placed 7th among 31 Canadian institutions.

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC), which comprises the Academy of Arts and Humanities, Academy of Social Sciences and the Academy of Science, recognizes excellence, advises the government and promotes a culture of knowledge and innovation with other national academies around the world.

Waterloo leads Canadian universities in producing successful entrepreneurs

The University of Waterloo ranks as number one amongst Canadian universities for producing the most successful entrepreneurs with undergraduate degrees according to the 2023 PitchBook university rankings. Waterloo remains ranked 21st in the world for founders.

Ten exceptional incoming students at the University of Waterloo are recipients of generous and prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarships, which encourage them to pursue science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM).

The scholars, known as Schulich Leaders, receive $100,000 or $120,000 to go towards their university education. More than 1,400 high school students were nominated this time, with 100 becoming Schulich Leaders.

Waterloo welcomes the 2023 cohort of Schulich Leaders

This year, the University of Waterloo is pleased to welcome 10 new first-year students to its cohort, through the Schulich Leader Scholarships program. Awarded annually to 100 high school students across Canada, the Schulich Leader Scholarships are granted to exceptional students who show great entrepreneurial promise in the field of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
