WATERLOO, Ont. (Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011) - The University of Waterloo won a gold medal last week from an international organization for its extensive institutional identity program, which sparked new designs for souvenirs, letterhead, recruitment publications, posters and web pages.
The medal was presented in Baltimore during the annual meeting of District II of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. At the same event, Waterloo received several awards for a program aimed at involving alumni in student recruitment.
WATERLOO, Ont. (Friday, Jan. 28, 2011) - The University of Waterloo and its Centre for Pavement and Transportation Technology (CPATT) today officially launched the new $1.5 million endowed Norman W. McLeod Chair in Sustainable Pavement Engineering, which will focus on advanced pavement research, collaborative projects with industry, and graduate student teaching and supervision.
The main goal of the new chair is to develop roads and highways that are safer for drivers and better for the environment, using green pavement technology.
WATERLOO, Ont. (Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010) - The University of Waterloo will graduate 1,707 students as well as award an honorary doctorate to His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, at fall convocation on Saturday.
As former president of the University of Waterloo, His Excellency is among four people being honoured at convocation. Also, Canadian Olympian Heather Moyse, a Waterloo graduate who won a gold medal at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, will receive an alumni achievement award from the faculty of applied health sciences.
