While many students make the transition back to school after the holiday break, at Waterloo, co-op students are returning to their studies after a four-month fall work term.

UWaterloo students at Winter Welcome WeekTo help undergrads get back into campus life, the Federation of Students is hosting Winter Welcome Week from Jan. 13 to 17.

Formerly known as Frost Week, the events support returning co-op students and those undergrads who are just beginning their studies at Waterloo. The week provides opportunities for students to meet new peers, learn ways they can get involved with the university, and relieve stress.

TV fanatics of Duck Dynasty can attend the Great Goose Games along with complimentary grilled cheese and Miss Kay’s sweet tea at the Student Life Centre Great Hall on Jan. 14. There is a Spice Girls Tribute Band event on Jan. 14, NYE 2.0 and Winter Olympics activities on Jan. 15, and Trivia on Jan 17.

Clubs, Services and Societies Day

Students can discover how to get more involved at the Clubs, Services, and Societies Day on Jan. 16 and 17. Other events include Joel Baskin: Entrepreneur Speaker and Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod: Body Break and the Amazing Race Presentation.

Students who want time to mingle with friends and enjoy free food can grab something to eat at the Free Breakfast of Champions and Speed Meeting with Smokin’ Tony’s BBQ. Both of these events take place Jan. 16.

To top off this year’s Winter Welcome Week, students are invited to support our Warriors at the Men’s Hockey Game against University of Toronto on Jan.17.
