OBEL's first academic all-Canadian

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

OBEL's Nathalie Oomen was recognized as an academic all-Canadian at the President's Honour Roll reception today!

Nathalie was one of 206 student athletes at the University of Waterloo recognized as an academic all-Canadian and the first OBEL member to achieve this success. Since joining OBEL in September 2015, Nathalie has successfully completed intense course work spanning topics including signal processing, pattern recognition, biomechanical modeling, among others.  Perhaps most impressive is that she completed these challenging courses while also carving out time to compete at a high-level on the University of Waterloo field hockey team.  She has become a leader both on the field and in the lab and we are proud to celebrate Nathalie's achievement along with her fellow academic all-Canadians!
