The Student Design Competition (SDC) challenges students to solve real-world engineering problems. The 2024-25 WEAO SDC is hosted in partnership with the City of Barrie, to investigate biosolids capacity and nutrient recovery at the Barrie Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The SDC is open to all full-time university and college students in Ontario. The winner of the WEAO SDC will receive financial support from WEAO to compete at WEFTEC in Chicago, Illinois in October 2025.
