15 COPE CE hours

Canadian Optometrists are faced with a need to continuously update their knowledge and skills to be best prepared to face the challenges of changing scope and an evolving health care environment. This 16-hour COPE accredited (pending) course in oral therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (TPA) and lab testing focuses on enhancing clinical confidence and is designed using best practices in adult learning in the medical field.

Delivered in a blended format, the course combines self-paced (asynchronous) online modules with interactive live-virtual (synchronous) sessions that explore real-world clinical application. A certification exam follows the live portion, and a passing grade is required to earn the certificate.

The content emphasizes case-based learning and practical decision-making to support effective management of ocular and related systemic conditions. While highly relevant for those preparing for expanded responsibilities, this course is equally valuable for optometrists looking to refresh and deepen their TPA and lab testing skills in line with modern standards of care.

This course can be taken on its own or paired with the Glaucoma Course for a more comprehensive learning experience.
