Earth and Environmental Sciences
Dr. Enoch Ofosu is an environmental scientist whose research focuses on forest carbon modelling, land-climate interactions, afforestation and reforestation, geospatial analysis, and nature-based climate solutions. He recently completed a postdoctoral appointment in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Waterloo. His research examines how forests and land-based interventions influence climate mitigation and how scientific evidence can be translated into effective environmental policy and decision-making.
His scholarship includes first-author publications in Environmental Research Letters and npj Climate and Atmospheric Science, as well as collaborative publications in Nature Communications and Communications Earth & Environment. His broader research interests span climate resilience, environmental governance, Africa-Canada research partnerships, technology and society, and the relationship between scientific knowledge, policy, institutions, and communities. He is also an Expert Reviewer for the First Order Draft of the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report, Working Group I.
