Will the new six-visit cap on visits in a 12-month period with Counselling Services be removed?

There are no immediate plans to change the model of counselling supports. Everyone’s situation is assessed on a case-by-case basis, and our analysis over a number of years is that most students receive the help they need within four to five sessions.   When significant issues cannot be addressed within six sessions, various options can be considered including referral to community services, additional assessment, or additional sessions.  Regardless of the number of sessions a student receives, they will continue to have access to emergency appointments, walk-in sessions and single session therapy.
