Register now for live space-to-ground connection with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield

Monday, February 4, 2013

Dear students, faculty and staff,

Canadian astronaut and former University of Waterloo post-graduate researcher Chris Hadfield becomes the first Canadian to assume command of the International Space Station (ISS) in March.

Already serving aboard the ISS in preparation for his term of leadership, the University of Waterloo will have the rare opportunity to engage in a conversation with Hadfield on Friday February 15, at 11:30 a.m. via an exclusive space-to-ground satellite connection. During the discussion, Hadfield will address several questions posed by the University of Waterloo community, and tell us what it is like to live and work among the stars.

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in person or online in this historic event, held in partnership with the Canadian Space Agency, by visiting our event web page and registering as soon as possible. Spaces are limited, so please register at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Feridun Hamdullahpur
