An Option is a secondary area of specialization you can complete in addition to your major, and is a great way to combine your interests in multiple subjects. They normally begin after first year, and usually consist of 8 courses. An Option is recognized on your degree.
The Parks Option is a great fit if you want to work in parks services, or in other outdoor and experiential learning settings. You will learn the theoretical and planning skills you need to plan recreation experiences in natural settings. This Option is highly recognized by the Canadian Parks Service.
Graduates have pursued careers with the Canadian Parks Service, and with provincial agencies, conservation authorities, and outdoor education service providers. Their roles include conducting research, developing policies, delivering programs, and providing visitor services.
