The marketing and communications team is central in advancing the University’s undergraduate recruitment and enrolment objectives. With a data-driven and student-first approach, they collaborate with campus stakeholders, including the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment, to drive domestic and international enrolment success. They manage a broad range of communications channels and initiatives to tell the University’s story and ensure a memorable experience for visitors.
The marketing and communications team is responsible for:
- Strategic marketing leadership: Shaping and executing institution-wide marketing strategies to support undergraduate recruitment, enrolment targets, and budget objectives;
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaborating with faculties, Affiliated and Federated Institutions of Waterloo, and academic support units to align recruitment activities and deliver high-quality, consistent materials, and experiences;
- Integrated campaigns: Leading innovative advertising efforts across digital, print, and social media to inspire prospective students and showcase the University’s unique differentiators;
- Website and digital optimization: Managing user-friendly, accessible web content and employing digital marketing best practices to engage prospective students effectively;
- Visitors Centre and open house events: Co-ordinating campus tours, recruitment events, and information sessions to offer a memorable and inspiring introduction to university life;
- Social media strategy: Driving engagement with dynamic, targeted content across platforms to connect with high school students worldwide; and
- Content development: Producing high-quality storytelling, presentations, and branded materials that highlight institutional excellence and connect with a diverse audience.
The team is led by the Director, Marketing and Communications, Kari Pasick Stewart.
