Postdoctoral scholar, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science
Gab Izma is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Biology, working with Rebecca Rooney on the RISE project. They have a background in ecotoxicology and biomonitoring of urban systems, with a focus on stormwater management ponds. Gab's contribution to RISE focuses on using biological community data, from invertebrate and eDNA sampling, to inform how residential neighbourhood design affects biodiversity in urban ponds, contributing to Activity 6. They will also be working with other members of the RISE team to synthesize findings across the different research areas to explore how pond design, neighbourhood design, and pond management relate to the ecosystem services provided by the ponds.
