This position has been filled.

The Waterloo Wetland Lab is looking to recruit a Master's Student for an upcoming project! If you are interested, please send a CV, your unofficial or official transcript, and a cover letter describing your research interests and highlighting any relevant courses or work experience to rebecca.rooney@uwaterloo.ca.

Project Background:

This position is part of an interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle urbanization and the biodiversity crisis. We will be investigating how different development scenarios can enhance urban biodiversity for ecological and human health benefits.

Over 80% of Canadians now live in urban areas and the housing crisis is pushing the boundaries of urban areas to expand. Our research will ensure that new housing developments are able to maximize their biodiversity benefits, contributing to a multi criteria score card - like LEED certification, but for neighbourhoods.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Environmental Biology or related field, with a minimum GPA of 70%
  • Field experience preferred but not necessary
