My research looks at how the presence of duckweed affects the biogeochemistry and aquatic communities of an agricultural pond. Using a limnocorral setup, I’m comparing mesocosms with and without duckweed to see how its presence influences water chemistry, nutrient cycling, and the organisms living within the pond. I’m hoping to better understand how duckweed mats influence different aspects of agricultural pond ecosystems.
