About the Speaker
Sammy completed her MSc in Public Health and Health Systems from the University of Waterloo in 2021. Under the supervision of Dr. Mark Ferro, her thesis work investigated mental illness in emerging adults with learning disabilities. She has a BSc in Kinesiology (Honours) and a Minor in Religion and Diversity from McMaster University. Throughout her interdisciplinary educational journey, she has benefited from various experiential learning opportunities supporting various populations, including older adults, those with multiple sclerosis, individuals with spinal cord injury, varsity athletes, and her fellow peers.
Currently based in Montreal, she works for Carebook Technologies Inc., a software company that provides digital health solutions. In her role as Public Health Researcher, Sammy works with Global Fortune 500 companies by analyzing aggregate employee health data and providing recommendations for how to improve their corporate health and wellness programs. Further, she supports content and product development strategies as the scientific/health subject matter expert.
