PhD Candidate
Dane Labonte is a PhD candidate in the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo. His research examines the social and institutional factors that impact socio-technical system transitions, with a focus on the diffusion of smart-grid technologies in the electricity sector. In relation to the NSERC Energy Storage Technology Network, Dane is exploring the perceptions energy storage technologies and the future potential for these technologies at the distribution-level of electricity systems. This research has involved interviewing executives from local distribution companies across Ontario.
