Harness the Hurricane:  Adapt Boldly, Nimbly, Quickly to Extreme Change

Change is constant, unpredictable and accelerating.  Extreme change can – much like a hurricane – leave you dizzy, dazed and disoriented,  as though the earth is moving under your feet.  Even if you survive the storm, you know more is coming.

When Women Lead

This presentation combines humour and personal reflections on women in the 21st century and why the women’s movement is unfinished everywhere. Dr. Samantha Nutt’s often satirical take on hot topics such as “Lean In” and whether “women can have it all” offers an engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining examination of the challenges women still face in the world and how women (and men) can advocate for change.  This presentation supports the University of Waterloo's participation in the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign.

We are committed to ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in our learning and development event. Please note that certain accommodations may require time to arrange.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within our Office of Indigenous Relations
