Nicholas Kiulia

Environmental microbiologist, PhD candidate

Nicholas Kiulia is an environmental microbiologist and currently a PhD candidate in water sciences (with major focus in aquatic microbiology, microbial ecology and biomonitoring)  at the National Institute for Scientific Research - Université du Québec (INRS). Nicholas’ current research focuses on how stream biofilm fatty acids and microbes respond to nutrient enrichment and its application as a novel tool to supplement the routinely used stream biomonitoring approaches. He completed his undergraduate degree in Environmental Microbiology at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Nairobi, Kenya and a Master’s degree in Environmental Virology at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
