What is WESP?
WESP is the StrEAMS lab home base. Located in the Biology 1 building at the University of Waterloo WESP contains state-of-the-art equipment for processing water and ecological samples collected by StrEAMS Lab members and collaborators at stream sites and TRESS. Specialized equipment maintained at WESP include a tensiometer and test stand for analyzing tensile loss resulting from cotton strip assays, several microscopes for enumerating and identifying macroinvertebrates and algae, fluorometers for assessing Chlorophyll a and turbidity samples, and much more. WESP is also offices for Dr. Yates and the graduate students of the StrEAMS Lab are located.
