New City of Waterloo Video Series on the SDGs

Monday, January 31, 2022

SDSN Canada is proud to support the launch of a video series promoting the Sustainable Development Goals and its implementation in Waterloo, Ontario. The 11-part video series brings together faculty from the University of Waterloo and staff from the City of Waterloo to discuss sustainable development topics and projects within the city.

As we look ahead to 2030, we urgently need to localize the SDGs within our cities. We know that we can’t achieve these goals without making progress in municipalities. The global pursuit of sustainable development starts in our own communities and the decisions we make about our priorities and activities. This video series introduces the Sustainable Development Goals, and uses them as a framework to understand some of the work being done by the City of Waterloo.

This video series is the result of a SSHRC-funded project (Grant # 892-2020-0067) with the City of Waterloo focused on catalyzing and assessing progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals in the city.
