We are pleased to launch a new "Teaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" Community of Practice for faculty members across the SDSN Canada membership. This initiative aims to convene faculty to share their SDGs teaching innovations, approaches, and resources, as well as to create collaborative opportunities to work together to accelerate SDGs education across Canada.
Features of this Community of Practice will include regularly scheduled webinars and networking opportunities, a shared repository of SDGs teaching resources, and a shared platform (Microsoft Teams group) where discussion can be posted about upcoming events or special initiatives.
Professor Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger from the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development at the University of Waterloo is helping to spearhead this initiative (check out Dr. Cordonier Segger's recent side event at the Together|Ensemble 2022 conference inviting faculty to share "3 ideas in 3 minutes" on teaching the SDGs).
With the SDGs agenda halfway complete and no country on track to achieve them fully, it is critical that we as educators work to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to contribute towards the transformative change called for by the SDGs.
If you'd like to join this Teaching Community of Practice, please reach out to Morenike Ojurongbe for more information and to be added to the Microsoft Teams group.
This initiative is open to SDSN Canada members only. All faculty, staff, and students at member institutions are considered members of SDSN Canada.
