Despite the setback for the SDGs created by the Covid-19 pandemic, SDSN chapters have seen their membership and activity grow significantly over the past 12 months. While the overall membership of SDSN has grown by 17% compared to 2020, the number of knowledge institutions joining SDSN networks has almost doubled in certain regions, speaking to the increasing interest in the SDGs by the world's universities and colleges.
Highlights in the report from the past year for SDSN Canada include:
- Engaging 1,600 people in online events on themes related to SDG localization and cross-sector partnership development.
- Overseeing and supporting 13 SDG hubs across the country, with 400+ students engaged as members and a total reach of over 3,600 students.
- Piloting a new SDGs experiential learning tool across the network, as well as engaging with municipalities across the country on a new SDGs Cities Index.
