That's a wrap for Together|Ensemble 2024!

This was the sixth year of the conference, bringing together Canadians from all sectors to track the SDGs in Canada. This year marked the first time the conference was held in-person, hosted at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, Ontario. The conference brought together 175 delegates in person, and 600 delegates online to explore the theme of “Innovation for the SDGs”, with a focus on innovations in Sustainable Finance, Future Cities, and AI for Eco-Innovation.

Conversations featuring:

  • Ajay Agrawal on how to prepare for the disruptions that AI will bring but also the opportunities to accelerate and scale this technology to tackle big sustainability challenges.
  • Helen Kerr on how cities can best prepare for turbulent times ahead and still ensure healthy, inclusively prosperous, and regenerative urban places.
  • JP Gladu on unlocking the hidden value of Indigenous prosperity and economic reconciliation.
  • Multiple panels with senior financial leaders exploring responsible investment and integrating ESG into business operations.
  • A panel on the Future of Housing featuring innovative solutions to help Canada overcome the current housing crisis.

Together|Ensemble 2024 was organized by the University of Waterloo's Sustainable Development Solutions Network of Canada (SDSN) and Economic Development Program. Funding was provided by the Government of Canada's SDGs Funding Program. Organizing partner for the Sustainable Finance stream was ESG Tree. Supporting partners also included the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Alliance 2030.
