Monday, February 17, 2020

SDSN Canada is pleased to announce a new collaboration to co-host Together|Ensemble, Canada’s national conference devoted to tracking progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together|Ensemble is an all-of-society approach to addressing Canada’s toughest sustainable development challenges, bringing people together from different generations, geographies and lived experiences representing the private sector, academia, government, and civil society.

Together|Ensemble will take place from May 20-22, 2020 at l’Université de Laval in Quebec City.

Visit www.togetherensemble.ca for more information.

Together|Ensemble will advance the SDGs in Canada by:

  • Showcasing work that is happening across the country;
  • Identifying new opportunities for collective impact;
  • Mobilizing good practices, effective research and policy work;
  • Developing new partnerships, innovations and pathways for progress on the SDGs.

As 2020 begins, the world embarks on the ‘Decade of Action’ to achieve the SDGs. The SDGs have created an internationally recognized language and measurement framework for sustainable development but have so far failed to galvanize the action needed to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. With only ten years remaining in the SDG mandate, it is essential to raise our ambitions for a sustainable future and act with urgency to create deep, transformative change.

We embark in co-hosting Together|Ensemble with our partners the Waterloo Global Science Initiative and l’Université Laval. It is the intention of this partnership to create an organizational and governance structure that will allow Together|Ensemble to continue annually until 2030, visiting a new SDSN Canada member campus each year.
