The University of Waterloo Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS) is a research laboratory within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences that develops and applies isotope technology. The TIMS facility under the supervision of Dr. Shaun Frape primarily focuses on the analysis and study of strontium and calcium isotopes for a number of environmental applications including:
- Groundwater Flow Dynamics
- Deep Groundwater Flow Systems
- Groundwater Geochemistry
- Groundwater-Surface Water Interactions
- Water-rock Interaction
- Biological Applications
