Join us for a new webinar series highlighting state-of-the-art water valuation practices in Canada and identifying practitioners’ demand for information about the value of water.

The webinar series targets anyone from academia to non-government agencies and practitioners who are interested in better understanding the value of water in Canada from a broad social science perspective, and how this value is captured, acknowledged and integrated in Canadian water policy and decision-making.

The webinars take place once per month, on a Wednesday, and start at 9:00 am PST / 12:00 pm EST.

Speaker Biosketch

Jie He

Dr. Jie He is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec. She holds a Ph.D in Development Economics from CERDI (Centre d’Étude et de Recherche en Développement International), Université d’Auvergne, France. Before joining the University of Sherbrooke, she worked for the World Bank and UNEP. Since 2005, her research focuses on non-market valuation methods, in particular the valuation of the environmental goods and services related to clean air and water in Quebec and China. In her presentation, Dr. He will zoom in on the non-market valuation research conducted in Quebec and lessons learned.
